Good. Better. Best.

I have the worlds best husband. No, really. He may be thousands of miles away from me, but he still knows how to melt my heart. (Cheesy, huh?)
David has been a beast. He has been sick, so it's not his fault. But the poor thing is having a hard time eating/drinking his bottle. He wants to feed himself, and doesn't. What are some good finger foods for babies? He absolutely hates the bugger sucker...and I hate having to use it on him.
Anyways, I put David down for his nap and was just lying on my big empty bed when the door bell rang. I came down the stairs, Dana was opening the door and there was a flower delivery lady standing there saying "I have a delivery for Rachel." Yes, of course they are gorgeous flowers, but the note is what got me:

Thanks mom for taking care of me while I was sick.
I may cry a lot at you but, I just love you.
I love you mommy.
Thanks for being her with me, mommy.
Love David (& Dad)

Precious. Perfect. Just what I needed. Thank you Mark for the sweet note and beautiful flowers! See you in just 3 short months! Love you!

I like Dr. Seuss

Back in November when Mark was in Kuwait he was able to go to the USO (which I love by the way!) and record himself reading a Dr. Seuss book and mail the DVD as well as the actual book to us. This is probably the least weird Daddy thing (along with Daddy doll)...and David loves it. I call it his Daddy movie and we watch up frequently.

Random side note: I am back to taking pictures of my little pants less man!

Never ceases to amaze me

I wonder if David knows how he is sleeping, or plans it out just to give me a good laugh.

Of course, minutes after this was taken, he was in a more "normal" sleeping position. But I am glad I was able to capture it!

Love of all things

David has not been eating his "normal" amounts since he has been sick. I decided to try cereal with him...the krispies were too small to pick up, but the box was just right :-)

Sick

We like to share in our family...especially extended family. Randy & Kennedy had colds...which they were so gracious to pass on to us. I told Amy last night that our relationship wasn't going the way I had planned :-) Anyways, David and I both got colds, but to make matters worse, David also has an ear infection. It is just so sad. Hopefully in just a few more days he will be feeling better and no one else gets sick...uh, Walker clan, I hope you survive the stomach bug and also get feeling better and maybe we can just skip sharing this?

David is a pretty funny kid, especially when he is sick. It's almost like he is slap happy. Nonetheless, we'll keep him and try to keep him healthy.

3 more months! Love you!

Where'd that come from?

David loveslittle crunchies. They are a still in our house, something I have had to stock up on because he will eat them at every meal if allowed. Sometimes when he is playing in the kitchen, he will see the container on the counter and start whinning andmoving his arms like a mad man. I really need to be better about putting them out of sight.

Anyways, I went in to get David from his nap the other day, and there it was:

I have absolutely no clue how it got there, and it wasn't there when I put him down. Some people say I starve him, so maybe he was just storing it for a quick snack when he got up. Don't worry, it went to its rightful place...in the mouth

Spring is around the corner...?

We have been loving this warm weather! It gives me some hope that spring is not to far away. Because it has been so nice out, we have been going on daily walks. David is happy and content sitting in the stroller, looking all around, twisting, with some noises here and there.

Remember my post about my stroller seat being broken? Well, apparently, the Abbington color has been discontinued. I now have a total of 3 different seat backs and 2 different (matching) canopy/basket. I think I am going to stick with the second one I received. Guess I need to get more serious about finding a jogging stroller.

David and I have nasty colds, but I think Davids might be something else, so its back to the doctor.

Hope you all have fabulous week! Hug your family and enjoy the simple things in life.
We love you!!!

I'm Already There

One day Mark and I will be able to spend Valentines consistently together. Since we were engaged, we have had an off and then on kind of deal with Valentines day it seems.

In just roughly 3.5 months, Mark will be home for 2 wonderful weeks, and we are so excited!
Regardless, a thousand miles apart, Mark seems to do something great. This year, it was a nice "good morning" text and a yummy surprise:

A little peepshow from our girls weekend trip to Vegas/Garth Brooks concert:

Why?

David really is not showing any interest in crawling. Sometime I am grateful for that though. Why crawl when he can just roll to get what he wants or do the "toad" (as Katie calls it)

(Look at those thighs, goodness!)

Cowboy Up!

I am headed to Vegas with my sisters-in-law and mother-in-law for a Garth Brooks concert tonight! I am really excited for this very quick vacation. I'm so grateful that David will be in good hands...that's right, he is not going, but is staying with the Young Family!

Sweet dreams

I've mentioned before Davids weird and creative sleeping positions, and today is no different! When I looked at the monitor, this is what I saw:

Thirsty?

I try not to give David too much straight juice because of the sugar level. But while in Maryland, my mom had some grape juice. Once David set his eyes on it, he had to have it.

8 months and growing like a champ!

David is 8 months old today! I don't know where the time has gone, but I'm partially glad it is going fast. David weighed in at 20 pounds. He is rolling all over, but really isn't showing much interest in crawling. He can scoot on his back, and twist & turn okay on his tummy; I hope he learns fast because I don't plan on carrying him all the time when he turns 1 :-) He sleeps great, eats like a champion and is growing like a weed. We love you so much David and are sure glad you're our little one! Happy 8 months handsome!

I thought I would do something different. Instead of just no pants, no clothes period! He loves putting anything and everything in his mouth, loves pulling my hair, grabbing at his diaper (little boys are a whole different ball game), playing with Max (it's not too late Katie, I can still bring him back!).
Love you!

Lemons

Mark has wanted me to give David a lemon for quite a while. I, obviously, was skeptical. But nonetheless, last night while at IHOP with the family, David had his first squeeze of lemon.
