My life could be a soap opera!
No, seriously, it could! It seems that whenever Mark is gone my body likes to see how much pain it can cause me while sending me to the hospital. The story: On Friday I started having some abdominal pain, but didn't really think anything of it because I thought maybe my period was just coming back. Well that night I could barely move and the pain had increased and now I felt it more on my right side. Saturday came and David was having a rough time with his little stools passing through. At one point we were both on the couch crying and thats when I called his Doctor and he told me to get a suppository for him (see previous post). As my pain got progressively worse I thought maybe a walk would help-boy was I wrong! It made it worse! I stopped by my friends house (Thank you Meagan and Joelle!!) and they convinced me to go have it checked out. So off we went to Community Care-they ran blood work (I had elevated white blood cells), did a urine analysis (that came back okay), took my temperature (which was 101.6) and then the Doctor touched my stomach and side and said it looks like you have appendicitis. He called the surgeon to see what the next step was. He said to meet him at the hospital. After checking in and such I was back in a room being poked some more. THe doctor said I had two options: 1) to do a cat scan to make sure it really was appendicitis, but he warned that might not show up and we could be wasting time. (It would take 3 hours to see the results and such.) or 2) I could have my appendix taken out right then. And thats what they did. I was in the hospital probably no more than an hour before they performed the surgery-and the doctor was right and glad he got in when he did because it was pretty red, very inflamed and pussy. Mark was finally able to come home (I'm sure his Sgt. thinks Im crazy because this is the 2nd time they had to send him home!) and David stayed at Joelles house-THANK YOU!! The thing that stinks the most is not being able to hold my little (or not so little) David! But am grateful for family and friends that can do so. So, now I am just soar, it takes a lot to get up and down, but nothing compared to the pain I had on Friday/Saturday!

Poor little baby!
My sweet little baby has been having some trouble with passing his stools. It makes me so sad that I really cant even do anything to help him. I called the doctor this morning after I decided that it probably wasnt a good thing that we were both in tears. He told me to get a glycerin suppository. And of course, Walgreens doesn't have them (they have been out for a while and dont know when they will get more-), Walmart did not have them, but thankfully Albertsons did and their pharmacist was so nice and tried so hard to make me feel a little better. I hope this works...
On a positive note, he slept from about 9:30pm to 3 am! Sleep is a beautiful thing and am grateful that he is getting better and better at it.
Also, I am going private in ONE WEEK, so please make sure you leave your email address!
Some pictures for your enjoyment...

Bath time!
I think bath time is pretty fun and David enjoys it, although he makes his hands into little fists and holds still while I bathe him. He is so cute and this picture just makes me smile!

He is also starting to smile more. It is so fun to see him smile and "develop" new "talents"!! Seriously, I cannot get enough of this little guy!

Smiles!
My little baby is not so little anymore. Im not going to lie, it makes me a little sad that he isnt in newborn anything. He's just growing and growing daily :-) Earlier this morning he had his first "real" (aka non-asleep) smile. It was just the cutest thing ever!

Not the best picture, but he is also getting smarter; so when we get the camera out he stops. Haha. Oh well.
While at the doctor, they weighed him...10 pounds 2 ounces. So when I say he is getting bigger, he really is. Some pictures for your enjoyment. The little white overalls he is wearing are still a little big for him, but he'll grow into them soon enough :-) He really likes his sleep, so sometimes when I need to wake him up to feed him or just to have him up we'll strip him down to his diaper...however, a lot of them time he makes a funny face and keeps on sleeping.

Happy 4th!

This 4th of July meant a little something different to me. I have always been grateful for the men and women who sacrifice so much to fight for our country and defend our freedom. I love the celebration of our country, the great patriotism that is shown all weekend long; however, this year it brought a little bit more pride. As we prepare for Marks deployment (Marks brother is currently deployed, and my brother is deploying later this year) I cannot help but feel even more gratitude for the military members and their families.
I am so grateful for Mark and his willingness to serve our country, to fight for our rights and freedom as a nation. I am so proud of him, the time and effort he puts into this is so refreshing. Dont get me wrong, I wish he didnt have to go, but I know that he will be blessed for this, and that we as a family will not only benefit from it in many ways, we will also grow closer together.

I love Mark so much and grateful that David is here in our family and that we can spend time together!
As for our activites...Mark was in the parade here in town. I wasnt too sure if David and I were going to make it though-he was super fussy and when I decided we would just go back home, he went to sleep, so we stayed. My mom status has been solidified now...I changed a very poppy diaper on my lap in the back seat of the car! It was not an easy task, but we both came out better people :-) We were going to go to a baseball game that night, but decided not to. Instead we rented a movie and spent time together. (Times sure have changed...but I wouldnt trade it for anything!)
Sunday was nice...very patriotic! I wish we showed our pride for our country a little more often. It was hard to sit through Sacrament meeting singing the songs, hearing the testimonies of friends...but very uplifting.

Look a like
Marks family is putting together a memory book for his grandmas birthday this August. His sister Katie uploaded a picture of Mark when he was a baby with his grandma. I already knew David looked a lot like Mark, but when I saw this picture, David looks exactly like Mark did when he was a baby. Take a look for yourself...

See what I'm saying? David is a mini Mark for sure! Haha. In other David news, he has officially grown out of anything newborn! Its a bitter sweet thing, my little baby is growing up :-)
p.s: I am having major issues with this blog layout! I dont want the pink on top! Anyone able to help?!?
